Though there is no guarantee of 12% return from a mutual fund. However, as a beginner you can think of investing your funds in HDFC Prudence ? Balanced Fund, HDFC Top 200 (G), ICICI Prudential Top 100 Fund ?, ICICI Prudential Focused Bluechip Equity Fund (G), UTI Equity Fund (G), Canara Robeco Equity Diversified Fund (G), etc. for long period of time.
