The ultimate goal of any LIC policy is to have a nominee. This is extremely important point as this is the main purpose of any policy to provide benefit to the nominee of the policy. It is very sad on the LIC part to see the unfortunate delay at the time of claiming death settlement just because the policy holder has not mentioned any nominee in the policy at the time of buying the policy. As a responsible person, policy holder should mention the name of the nominee at the time of buying the policy itself. If he/she has done the nomination then they should check the name of nominee in the policy schedule. The nomination could be changed at any point of time.
