AO is a generalist position. Their job involves looking after various administrative aspects of insurance company. For initial one year, they will have to perform various tasks at different desks in a branch or regional office. Their tasks involves issuing of insurance policies, claim settlements, maintaining communication with company lawyers, accounts, HR, IT and other departments, monitoring cash receipts, general administrative tasks and so on. At this level, they are not given any sort of sanctioning authority.
