    I have borrowed a home loan from Axis Bank in August 2014. I am already paying EMI for it and I am in possession of the property. It is a self-occupied property. I know that I can claim interest payment on my loan in ITR. I want to know whether I can claim housing loan processing charges paid to the bank as tax exemption under section 24 while filling income tax return.

    Housing loan processing charges paid to the bank can not be claimed as tax exemption under any section of income tax act. There is no provision for it.
