A probationary officer is an entry level position in a bank. He will be liable to report to his immediate superior and he can be entrusted with any task from the wide range of tasks of ongoing banking. He may be asked to handle customers for cheuque passing, cash management or preparing a draft, etc. Usually, a probationary officer is given tasks in such a way that he get to taste all the flavours of tasks in banks. Upon successful completion of his probation, he can be promoted as assistant manager.
