HSBC cash back offer on co-branded card with makemytrip

I have received call from HSBC employee regarding co-branded card with makemytrip. As per him, I am required to activate this card by doing any transaction and Rs. 5,000 will be credited to my card that I can use for any purpose. Annual charges are Rs. 500 and there are cancellation charges. Any comment on this offer?

Check with them whether the offer is valid only on makemytrip website or anywhere. Do you need to spend something to avail benefit of Rs. 5,000 like in vouchers? Anyways, in worst case, you will bear a mere loss of Rs. 500 only.
