I want to know the process if closing demat account

In 2009, I opened Demat account with ICICI Direct. IDFC infra bond purchased in 2009 and shares of Triveni Engineering purchased in 2011 are still in demat form. Since I am not using this account for last 2 years, I find the annual charges as sheer wastage of money. I wish to close this account. Please tell me the procedure for it.

If you are not interested in selling your bond and shares, then open another demat account, transfer your holdings from ICICI Direct to new account. Once this is done, you can request ICICI direct to close the account.
