Is BSE Star MF better than direct dealing with AMCs

Recently somebody told me about BSE Star MF. I want to know what it is actually used for. Are there any charges of using it and is it better than dealing directly with AMC?

BSE Star MF platform is basically used for buying and selling mutual funds online. It works in a same way as you trade a normal stock on BSE. Here, the units will be in demat form and you will be levied transaction charges, STT, etc. In my opinion, transacting directly with mutual fund AMC is a better choice.
