Monthly investment of Rs. 7,000 for my daughter’s education

My daughter is 2 months old. I want to give her best education. For that reason, I want to start investing for her with maximum of Rs. 6,000 to Rs. 7,000 monthly. I have two ideas in my mind ? child plans or mutual funds (HDFC Children’s Gift Investment Plan). Which way I should go? Please guide.

First make a provision of purchasing a term plan for an adequate amount. In the second step, start investing for your daughter. With HDFC’s Plan, on her 18th birthday, the entire amount will get transferred to her and you will lose control on it.
