I have surplus funds of Rs. 25 lakhs. I don’t see requirement of at least Rs. 20 lakhs in next 6 years. Rs. 5 lakhs I am keeping for emergency. I am not in favour of accepting high risk. For that reason, I have kept MFs out of my investment basket. FYI, I have a savings account with Bank of Baroda. Please suggest how to invest the surplus amount.

Invest Rs. 5 lakhs in sweeping fixed deposit. This will cover for emergencies. Rs. 20 lakhs can be invested in FDs for 5 years. Explore the need of purchasing term insurance.
