Need help in selecting best mutual funds for investment

After little research, I have chalked out few mutual funds. Among large cap fund, I have picked ICICI Pru Focused Blue Chip Equity Fund, BNP Paribas Equity Fund (G) and Franklin India Blue Chip. List for Mid & Small cap includes HDFC midcap opportunities and SBI magnum emerging business. Please help in choosing one fund from both these categories.

These funds are giving good performance. But for how long you want to remain invested in chosen funds? What was the base on which you have selected these funds? What is your main motive of investing in mutual funds?
