Should I invest in Reliance Child plan for 5 years

My friend has suggested me to invest in Reliance Child plan. The plan is costing me with a premium of Rs. 15,000 approximately. I will be required to invest in this plan for a period of 5 years only. As this is a guaranteed return plan, I am little tempted to go for it. But I don’t want the temptation to override rationality. Will you suggest investment in this plan?

Investment for 5 years with guaranteed returns is a feature of fixed deposits as well. Why not FDs then? It will also give you security of money and 9% interest.
