    I have opened a PPF account with Canara bank. While opening the account, there was a query in my mind. Though I intend to disciplinarily deposit money in PPF account but still want to know. What will happen if I fail to deposit for few months in between. Will I be penalized for it? Or will I be required to compensate the amount in following months?

    In a financial year, you have to deposit a minimum of Rs. 500 to keep the account active. Maximum 12 deposits are allowed in a financial year. You can skip contributions without any worries.
