Where to invest for short period of time

Due to certain issues with HDFC Bank, I have closed my account with them. There the balance in my savings account was for Rs. 60,000. I have taken out my money and don’t want to put this money back to some other bank’s savings account. In any case, I will need the amount after 6 months. What are my investment choices for this short duration?

Fixed deposit is the only choice I can see as the duration ranges from 7 days to 10 years. You can also request your bank for recurring deposit. Don’t put your funds in risky alternatives.
