If you look at the scope of general insurance, it is much wide as compared to life insurance. General insurance includes insurance for vehicles, fire, householders insurance, personal accident insurance, travel insurance, medical and health insurance. However, a career in both will offer a scope more than taking up an individual insurance agency. Why not become an agent for both ? it will require 25 hours of additional training (50 hours training while applying for one type of insurance and 75 hours for both types of insurance).
