I order to become an insurance agent you need to be of majority age and should be at least 12th pass. Insurance company will make you undergo a practical training for 50 hours (75 hours training for a composite license) at their IRDA approved training centers. Thereafter, you will have to appear for an online examination and clear the same with at least 35% marks. Once you successfully clear all the formalities, you will receive a license through IRDA portal that will allow you to work as an insurance agent.
