    I got calls from HDFC’s recovery agent for my credit card dues. He asked me to pay Rs. 20,000 in 2 installments to clear my debt. Before 2nd installment, I demanded settlement letter which he denied and I stopped the payment. My CIBIL status shows ‘written off’ and outstanding balance Rs. 45,000. I enquired from HDFC, manager asked 40,000 for settlement. He gave me letter of settlement but hasn’t mentioned whether my written off status will be cleared or not. Please guide

    Pay Rs. 40,000 and ask manager to clearly mention in settlement letter that CIBIL report will be cleared.
