Unclear status of my employer in relation to PF contribution

There are number of people who have left the organization I am working with for last 10 months. None of them have received their PF money and most of them have now stopped trying. I am sure the company is contributing towards PF but the main point of tension is whenever I tried to check online with my PF number, every time I get the same response that the number is invalid. Please suggest me what to do in this case.
