Can I claim health check-up fee as pre-hospital charges

I have a mediclaim policy from Star Health Insurance. I casually went for a health checkup in which appendix was detected to me. I consulted few doctors, paid consultation charges. Doctor suggested an operation to remove the appendix and as suggested by the doctor, I went through an operation. Everything was in the same month. Can I claim the amount spent on my health check-up, consultation charges as pre-hospital charges?
