Can contributions in PPF account be made from NRE account

In 2009, I opened a PPF account for myself. I contribute Rs. 1, 00,000 every year in this account. When I opened the account I had no plans to shift abroad. But fortunately or unfortunately I had to bring changes in my plans and I migrated to Australia. But I have plans to return India in next 5 to 7 years. I hope this time I will stick to my plans. For that reason to continue contributing in my PPF account from my NRE account. Is it allowed to do so?
