Check my investment portfolio ? Is it in a right direction

As a novice investor, I started investing Rs. 8,000 through SIP in 4 mutual funds from this month (HDFC Top 200 ? Rs. 3,000, HDFC Equity ? Rs. 2,000, SBI Emerging business ? Rs. 2,000 and SBI Bluechip ? Rs. 1,000). I am 35 years old and my main motive behind this investment was my child’s education who has turned 4 and planning for retirement. My wife is homely. Have I invested in right funds?

Let 3-4 years pass with this fund, then you can judge the performance of your portfolio and accordingly take corrective action. Otherwise to me these funds are quite okay.
