    An individual who is an NRI can do this himself/herself by making use of the online tax filing portal of the Income tax department of India. The website provides a free method to enable an individual who is an NRI to file the return online and then following the process, download the acknowledgment receipt which should be signed and sent to the Income Tax department within 120 days of the download. There are websites and other portals which provide help and services to file returns. As an alternate option, one can also get help from the chartered accountant to file the returns.
