Written off status in CIBIL for a fully paid loan

In 2009, I borrowed personal loan from Fullerton India for Rs. 2 lakhs for 5 years. During the tenure I defaulted on some of the EMIs but somehow I managed to pay my loan in full and final. I have also received no due certificate from Fullerton India. My CIBIL score is 780. But when I have applied for personal loan with HDFC Bank, it was rejected because of ?written off’ status with CIBIL for Fullerton’s loan. What I should do?

Since you have a no dues certificate, you can file a complaint with CIBIL to remove written off status.
